Extra Credit Assignment

My little snowflakes,

I know you have so much to read, but for extra credit, I challenge those who are brave, to read President George Washington's Farewell Address to read and comment on. Any lucid and germane comments will be fine for a couple of extra credit points. Bonus points will be given to those who can relate it to our readings of John Locke. Just to remind you however, this does not substitute your primary reading assignment. Enjoy your week.

First Homework Assignment

Dear Students, today we shall be addressing the foundations of American society. Yes, its concisely written in this small little book (and to the masses who thought books were useless...shame on them). So, we shall be reading this book to start our course. Your first assignment is to read the first five chapters by our next class period.

Franklin D. Roosevelt's speech

Dear Class,

For those who wish to rest your weary reading skills, I have posted the following video. We will be examining it later in the course, but I figure it would be nice to be somewhat inspired in these difficult economic times from those who provided leadership to a similar economically depressed generation.

Welcome

Dear Students,

Welcome to the internet's version of Plato's Academy. Here we shall exercise this ancient, inspiring site for our uniquely new setting for our intellectual discussions concerning the topics germane to this course. Be prepared, any (perhaps all) homework assignments will be posted on here. So make use of this (since you can easily submit such assignments on to this page as well). So enjoy the website throughout the term and I shall see you all in class tomorrow morning.
